The full form of PTE is the Pearson Test of English. It is a test that determines a student’s level of English ability. A student must pass the test in order to be accepted into a foreign institution or college where English is the only language used for communication. Usually, countries like the Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand and UK ask for a PTE scorecard.

The Reading section tests the ability to read for gist, reading for key ideas, reading for detail, skimming, understanding logical argument, and recognizing writers’ opinions, attitudes and purpose.
